Positions with Care Fur Pawz:

  • Mid-Day Dog Walkers

    • Must be available to walk dogs, Monday through Friday between the hours of 10:00 - 3:00pm . The number of dogs you’ll walk on any given day will vary based on the clients’ schedules and when they need pet care. You must be available all of these days and all of these hours. We will not be able to consider those who are only available a few days per week or few hours within each time block.

  • Pet Sitters

    • Must be available to work at least (2) weekends per month and either Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Easter AND either Memorial Day or Labor Day. Pet Sitters visit our client’s home multiple times per day, therefore need to be available to do multiple visits per day. We will not expect you to travel to a client's home more than 2-3 times per day or over 5 days in a row. If that becomes the case, another sitter will share the visits with you.

  • Overnight Sitters

    • Sitters stay in our client's home overnight. Day visits will be completed by another sitter. Staying in the clients home overnight is not required if you are doing Almost Overnights.

    • Must be available to work at least (2) weekends per month and either Thanksgiving, Christmas, or Easter AND either Memorial Day or Labor Day. Care Fur Pawz offers three overnight services:

    • Almost Overnight: 2 hours before bedtime and 1 hour in the morning. You are expected to stay awake and active with the pets during your time at the clients house because you are not sleeping there.

    • Standard Overnight: This is our 9-hour overnight stay from 9/10 pm-6/7 am. You are expected to stay up to care for the pet 1hr before bedtime and 1hr in the morning.

    • Extended Overnight: This is our 12-hour overnight stay from 8/9 pm-8/9 am. You are expected to stay up to care for the pet 2 hours before bedtime and 2 hours in the morning.

P.S. If the pet is allowed in the bed you will be getting a night full of furry cuddles!

Compensation:

  • Each sitter starts at $16 per hour. You will be compensated for your drive time.

    • Note: Visits range from 30 minutes to 5 hour extended stays.

  • Gratuities and Holiday Surcharges are 100% yours!

  • You’re paid bi-monthly by direct deposit into your bank account.

  • Payroll is submitted to our payroll company on the 15th and last day of each month. If the 15th or the last day of the month falls on a weekend or holiday, payroll is submitted on the next business day. The direct deposit will hit your account 2-3 days after it is submitted. Your bank is in charge of when the direct deposit hits your account within that time frame.

  • You will receive performance reviews after 1 month, 3 months, 6 months, and 12 months. After your first year, performance reviews will be held annually. You have the opportunity to earn raises based on performance at each annual review.

Summary:

Sitters employed by Care Fur Pawz can either be classified as a Mid-Day Dog Walker, a Pet Sitter, an Overnight Sitter, or any combination of the three positions. This is based on your availability and what services you’re interested in offering to our Care Fur Pawz clients’.

The Care Fur Pawz service area is broken down into 8 quadrants. Each Sitter/Walker is assigned to a specific area or areas. To start, we will plug you in where we can until you build up your book of business in your area.

We keep our sitter’s assignments as close to their “home base” as possible to increase their profits. The usual travel distance is 2.5 to 10 miles… unless they have agreed to travel further.

Note: For Overnight sitting assignments, sitters can travel further because their “home base” is the client’s home.

Mid-Day Walkers build their regular schedules by either inheriting the walks of another sitter who is no longer able to offer their services to Care Fur Pawz, or by adding on new clients that sign-up for service. Our regular mid-day clients retain the same “walker” until their relationship Care Fur Pawz ends or until the walker is no longer contracted by Care Fur Pawz. Our walkers visit the same clients on their route Monday through Friday based on the client's booking schedule.

Pet Sitters are chosen as the “primary sitter” for a client by the service areas that they cover and by their availability submitted to the Care Fur Pawz database. After a sitter is assigned as the “primary sitter,” Care Fur Pawz will make every attempt to book that same sitter for the client for subsequent bookings. If the primary sitter is unavailable then Care Fur Pawz will assign a secondary sitter to the assignment using the same protocol as explained above. A client may choose to meet with any back-up/secondary sitter or they may choose to have a phone conversation or they may just ask that Care Fur Pawz send the sitter without introduction.

The same protocol is followed for assigning Overnight Sitters as the “primary sitter.”

While Care Fur Pawz sitters do their best to cover in cases of emergencies, this is not a job where “calling in sick” is tolerated. The pets in your care depend on you to complete your assignments and one (1) no-call no-show is cause for immediate termination of employment.

Long-Term Relationship:

Care Fur Pawz is only interested in working with sitters who want to build a long-term relationship with our company and its clients. It’s NOT a good position for those trying to find interim work while in-between jobs or trying to “figure out” what their next step is. Our clients come to trust their assigned pet caretaker and appreciate it when they’re able to grow a trusted relationship with that person.

Care Fur Pawz reserves the right to have sitters (employees) who are only providing pet sitting and dog walking services for Care Fur Pawz. We do not have sitters on our team who have their own service or currently work for another service. If you are reading this please put BLUE MONKEY in the comment section on the application.

Paychecks and Taxes:

By law, Care Fur Pawz Ltd. is subject to Colorado wage withholding requirements. These include tax levies, child support orders, loan repayment, and other court-ordered garnishments. Employees will be notified if Care Fur Pawz Ltd. receives such an order. Care Fur Pawz Ltd. may also make deductions that are expressly authorized in writing by the employee, and are for the benefit of the employee, as permitted by applicable law and, where applicable, Care Fur Pawz Ltd. had set up an employee benefit program. These include payments for insurance premiums, pension or health and welfare benefits, contributions to charitable organizations, and payments for United States bonds.

All employees are subject to taxes on earnings. All deductions required by law and all authorized, permissible deductions will be automatically withheld from employees' paychecks.

Starting in 2023, employers with 9 or fewer employees must deduct 0.45% from employees’ wages for Family and Medical Leave Insurance (FAMLI) contributions. Any questions regarding payroll deductions and paychecks should be directed to the Owner. Employees are expected to review their paychecks and paystubs biweekly and report to the Operations Manager immediately if there are any errors in their paychecks or paystubs, including, but not limited to, the hours worked, deductions taken, or the total amount paid.
