  • 2.) How do your services work?
All services require a meet and greet before they may be requested. Care Fur Pawz offers pet sitting, overnight care, and dog walking all in the comfort of your home. (Dog training coming soon!) Pet sitting and overnight care are those going away for a trip whether it's for work or pleasure. Dog walking is for clients who are gone for long periods of time away and their pup needs attention and exercise. We book in two-hour time frames to account for traffic, accidents, road closures, or a visit going over due to unexpected reasons. Overnights are offered from 9/10 pm-6/7 am (9hrs) or 8/9 pm-8/9 am (12hrs). We come to your pet and provide care personalized to their needs!
  • 3.) What is your vaccination policy?
We require that all pets have their rabies vaccines as this is required by the state. The owner must provide proof of certification. If your pet is too young or unable to receive the vaccine, an exception may be made if we can verify the age or the vet provides a note of exemption. You may also get a titer test done to see if your pet has enough levels of the vaccines to no longer need them. This test can be quite expensive and we do not require this to be done.
  • 4.) What discounts do you offer?
Care Fur Pawz offers a 5% military discount to both active and non-active service members. We also offer a 10% recurring discount to those who book repeat services. You must book twice or more per week to be eligible for the Recurring Discount Program!
  • 5.) Can you send me pictures and updates of my pets?
Of course! We understand the importance of keeping in touch and bringing you a piece of mind while you’re away. We do this by sending updates, pictures, and videos of your pets after each visit. You also can message us back through our convenient booking app.
  • 6.) What do you do if there is an illness, injury, or medical emergency?
Care Fur Pawz is certified in Pet First Aid and CPR. In the event of any injury or illness, we will assess the situation carefully and inform you right away. Depending on the severity of the illness/injury we may make the executive decision to take your pet to the vet specified on your Pet Care Contract. If time is of the essence we will take your pet to the closest veterinary hospital. If we are unable to reach the owners of the pet(s) then we will follow the Veterinary Authorization outlined in the Pet Care Contract.
  • 7.) My pet rushes the door, what if they escape?
Care Fur Pawz top priority is to ensure the safety of your pets and prevent them from injury, illness, and escapes. We ask that each owner properly secures the home and yard before leaving. This includes but is not limited to, no open doors and windows, uncrated dogs that rush the door having a way to block them from rushing the door, informing the pet owner if there is any history of escapes (etc). Upon arrival, we check all gates, fences, and doors leading outside. For walking, we ask which harnesses and leashes the pets use so we are using the correct ones for them. In the unfortunate event your pet does escape, we will contact the owner and the emergency contact about what has happened and maintain communication within the process of retrieving the pet. We will call all local vets, shelters, and animal control agencies. We will search the nearby areas and continue to check the home in case they return home. We will use social media and posters to raise awareness. If pets have full access to a backyard, it is not always guaranteed to be 100% secure. Pet Sitter does not accept responsibility or liability for any customer’s pets that escape, are injured, or become lost, fatal, or otherwise when pets are left out or given access to a fenced-in area. This includes electronic, wood, metal, or any other fence type. All dogs must be on a leash at ALL times when the Pet Sitter is in care of pets on walks/trips to the park. Pet Sitter is not liable for pets left outside or may escape from the client’s property when Pet Sitter is not in attendance – for example, clients who use doggie doors or pets who live and stay outside at all times. Pet Sitter should not be liable for the injury, disappearance, death, or fines of any pet that escapes the property unless the pet was able to escape due to the negligence of the Pet Sitter.
  • 8.) What do you do if my pet is shy/fearful?
If your pet is shy or fearful, we will take the process very slowly. We want to build our relationship with the pet and not stress them out any further. If we are unable to come in contact with the pet to do our normal wellness checks, we will verify the pet is safe, healthy, and in the home from a distance. This includes locating the pet and confirming they are secure, checking food/water levels, body language, mobility, and so on. To make things comfortable, we will simulate the things you do in your home like walking around the home, turning on and off the faucet, and opening and closing doors. We basically want to make it as normal of an experience for the pets as possible and most times, the less pressure you put on the pet to socialize, the quicker they adapt. We are strong on being force-free and letting the pets build a relationship with us on their own.
  • 9.) What if there is an issue with my home?
The benefit of hiring a pet sitter to care for your pet(s) while you’re away is they also provide care to your home. If there is an issue with the home such as power outages, a pipe bursting, odd sounds, or smells, we will inform the owner immediately. At the meet and greet we ask where the water shut off and breakers are in case any of the above occurs.
  • 10.) What do you do in the event of extreme weather/natural disasters?
    ● Blizzard- Primarily severe storms, snow/ice conditions, etc. you will entrust Care Fur Pawz to use their best judgment in caring for your pets(s) and home if we are servicing you at the time of inclement weather. Care Fur Pawz Ltd. will try to carry out your instructions to the best of the company’s ability. The care we provide to our customer’s pets and their safety is our first concern. Customer selection of a nearby emergency contact has been requested. The inclement weather plan will be as follows: 1) Every effort will be made to drive to your home; 2) The service schedule may be changed, interrupted, or altered due to circumstances; 3) If it is not possible to drive safely to your home, your emergency contact will be notified, 4) You will be notified that the above-mentioned contingency plan has been activated. ● Extreme Heat- If outside temperatures are too hot to walk a dog, we will use our best judgment in caring for your pet(s) and home if we are servicing you at the time. It is too hot to walk a dog if you cannot hold your hand to the ground for longer than 5 seconds. Dogs do not have protection for their feet (the owner may supply booties) and when the pavement is too hot it can cause serious damage. Temperatures over 76 degrees can be dangerous to walk dogs and put them at risk for heat stroke. ● Fire- Your pet's safety is our top priority. If the premises has caught fire we will work quickly to get all pet(s) out of the building safely. We always ask the owner that each pet wears a standard collar (if the pet is able) while we provide care. We also ask for the location of harnesses, leashes, carriers, and anything else to help with the evacuation process. The known location of fire extinguishers is essential to the safety of your pet(s). ● Tornado- In the event of a tornado/tornado warning we will take shelter in the designated area for tornados such as the basement or a downstairs bathroom. If a pet sitter receives a tornado warning and there is time to check on all the families they are caring for, the pet sitter will go to each home a secure the pets in a safe place. We will make sure pets do not have access to the outside.

  • 15.) What do you do if my ETA is delayed?
If you are going to be arriving home later than you’re expected time, please inform the company ASAP. We always require owners to inform us when they are home and the pets are back in their care. If we do not receive a message that you are home we will continue providing services to ensure the pet has care until you we receive notice you are home.

We understand your plans change and we, generally, do not charge for cancellations with adequate notice. However, if you cancel 48 hours or less before the date of the first visit, the deposit is non-refundable. If the client chooses to pay in full ahead of time, 20% of the amount will be non-refundable. Late Cancellations: If you are canceling within 24 hours or less before the visit/walk you will be charged a $20.00 cancellation fee. Holiday Cancellations: Please understand that pet-sitting services and kennels receive more requests for reservations than they can handle during these holiday periods and we may have turned away other clients because we have reserved time for you during a busy season. If you cancel seven days or less before a holiday reservation, you will be charged for half of the visits. The 20% deposit will go towards the cancellation charge.
